Mark Damian has taught drum lessons in southeastern Michigan for 13 years. With a student roster that ranges from ages 6 to 55 Damian teaches the beginner how to play, the novice how to refine, and the experienced to explore and rediscover.

Focusing on the snare drum and the drum kit Mark covers the essential drum rudiments, music reading, proper stick technique, groove studies, and independence. Lessons are designed on an individual basis to fulfill the needs and interests of that student.

WHY GO TO THE TEACHER WHEN THE TEACHER COMES TO YOU?
The preference for “house call” style lessons is strategic. Eliminating travel time is an obvious convenience for the student but more importantly the student learns on his/her own gear. This is especially important on the drum kit as every drummer will have their equipment set up to meet personal preference and ergonomic comfort. It also allows for lessons on proper tuning and maintenance of the instrument, an area that most instructors fail to cover.

Lessons take place once a week for a full hour or a half hour. Rates can vary based on your location. The current cities that Mark will travel to for lessons include Ann Arbor, Belleville, Canton, Detroit, Dearborn, Dexter, Northville, Novi, Plymouth, Westland, Ypsilanti but all inquiries are welcomed.
