Damian Goes “All Over the World”

AOTW-v2B1500-mc“All Over the World” is the first single from Move Collective. Originally written by ELO’s Jeff Lynne for the 1980 movie soundtrack to Xanadu, Move Collective producer Mark Damian chose to remake the song because of it’s universal theme and lush arrangement. Sped up to 128BPM it becomes a driving dance groove with live strings offering a nod back to the disco era.
Damian handles lead and backing vocals on the recording as well as drums, synthesizers, piano, and guitar. Additional vocals by Denise George, Ben Sturley on bass, Lisa Liu on violins, and Ken Roberts on additional synthesizers. Mixed by Mark Damian. Mastered by Brian Lucey of Magic Garden Mastering. Released in March of 2016 on over 50 download and streaming sites including iTunes, Spotify, & Apple Music.

Audio Work with BC Live

Star WarsMost of my audio work takes place in the confines of a studio mixing songs of mine or other artists, working on audio post for TV, etc. In 2015 I found myself doing front of house and broadcast audio on location, mostly for a great streaming video company called BC Live Productions. Example? This Star Wars Q&A session with J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie streamed live around the world from You Tube Space LA to promote the blockbuster film The Force Awakens.

I’ve been working with Troy for the last couple years producing original songs like “Cold Outside” as well as contributing sound design cues for our film trailer audio library. It’s been a great year for us as our material has found it’s way into trailers for “Furious 7,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Terminator: Genisys,” “Poltergeist,” “Tomorrowland,” “Mad Max,” “The Fantastic Four,” “SPY,” “TED 2,” “Jurassic World,” “Entourage,” “Ant Man,” “Mission Impossible 5,” “Insidious,” “Sinister 2,” “Everest,” “The Peanuts Movie,” “Black Mass” and “Crimson Peak,” among many others.
