IMG_6035Just back from a great run of shows in the Midwest with Laith Al-Saadi that included Jimmy Vivino from Conan O’Brien’s Basic Cable Band on guitar. It was also great to play with my friends in the Lucas Paul Band and grab a last minute gig with Butterthief out of New York City.  Managed to squeeze in a couple sessions with Ken Roberts and Angela Akers while in Michigan too.

A big push to finish up a record with Facing Arrows!  We’re very excited about this collection of songs.  Just a bit more tracking and a few songs to mix but so far it’s turning out fantastic. Hope to release the material later this year!

Don’t forget to check out upcoming show dates for the bands I’m currently working with including Laith Al-Saadi, Facing Arrows, The Singularity, The Band that Fell to Earth (A Bowie Tribute), and Los Angelics.

Start upI’m also very excited to be working as the audio post engineer on Start Up, a nationally broadcasted PBS TV show produced and hosted by Gary Bredow that gives viewers an up-close and personal look into the world of the modern American entrepreneur.

Dyllan_NoLiesDyllan Murray’s full length album was officially released this week. I tracked the drums for all these tunes at the Village Recorder in Santa Monica, CA last year. Congrats to Dyllan for getting this record out and thanks for including me in the project.

The fine folks at Roland designed a new workstation called the FA-06 and asked if I would play a V-Drum kit for the worldwide demo video release.

Roland Japan loved the demo video so much they asked us to recreate it as a live performance at the annual NAMM convention in Anaheim, CA.  Performances will be on the Roland stage for Wednesday’s press conference and Thursday through Sunday, everyday at 10:30, 1:30, and 4:30 open to the public.

Accompanying Frankie Moreno’s astonishing piano and vocal abilities is a 10-piece band complete with a strings, horn section, guitar, bass, and myself on drums. I’m booked to perform select dates at Frankie’s high-energy show at the Stratosphere in Las Vegas as well as more travel dates. Check my show dates for more information.

I’m still in the studio finishing tracks lots of new music. Facing Arrows, The Singularity, and music that I’m writing and producing with Troy MacCubbin will all be out soon!

laith-sugarmillIt’s always great to play with my old pal, rockin’ blues guitar great, Laith Al-Saadi. We spent a lot of time on stage together throughout Michigan and the entire midwest for 8 years. We recently took over the west for a couple nights performing two shows in the Los Angeles area with a little help from special guest Jimmy Vivino of Conan O’Brien’s Basic Cable Band. I’m part of a David Bowie tribute band currently called The Ziggy Revue. I use the term “currently” because it is subject to change. Regardless, we played our first show this past weekend at the Good Hurt in Los Angeles performing the Ziggy Stardust record in it’s entirety. The Singularity, the Brit synth-pop band I recently became an official member of, was also on the bill. The show was a success raising a significant amount of money for the Young Angels Of America charity.

Be on the look out for a fresh, new artist named Dyllan Murray. I tracked drums for some of his material recently and was asked to appear in his video for a catchy pop tune called “Kiss Me”. It dropped only four days ago and already has close to 300,000 views!

Layla KRecently I had the great pleasure of playing with a new artist named Layla Kilolu for her debut EP release. The show took place in Venice, CA last weekend. If you missed it we’re performing again on May 10th at a venue called Atwater Crossing in Los Angeles. Hope to see you there.
